Welcome to RMA!

Welcome to the RARE MEDIA ARCHIVE

This blog was created by myself, Tony Randall, to document a hobby of mine. What is that hobby? Well, rare media of course! Primarily reel-to-reel and cassette, but generally I have interested in all potentially unknown, lost or mysterious media. My greatest find to date was a 5" reel to reel tape that was dated 1973, London Broadcasting written on the label. It said it featured the band "Sagittus", which there seemed to be no record of ever even existing before. When I played the tape, it was truly a treasure. It featured what they described on the tape as "a poetry band". Basically, it was folk music from the 1970's, separated by readings of poetry. The most amazing detail being that it has never been documented before. This was a piece of lost history. Since then, I've taken the hobby a lot more seriously. This blog is to document my finds, at least any that have any signs of being interesting enough (since I buy tons of tapes it would be pretty difficult to document all of it). I hope you stick around to see what we can unearth together, and hopefully, find some lost media and make it available in some form once again.
